✓Our client is a leading contract testing and analysis company based in Didcot, who are offering a laboratory-based opportunity for a hard-working, professional individual to join their environmental chemistry team
✓This position is a great opportunity for someone to develop their skills in the laboratory
✓The role is well suited to individuals with experience working in analytical chemistry, as well as graduates with a chemistry-based BSc and relevant experience in an accredited lab.
✓The Role
✓This is a position suitable for individuals with analytical chemistry laboratory experience within a UKAS or ISO 17025 accredited lab
✓As a Laboratory Analyst, you will be responsible for the following:
✓* Independently performing analytical duties in a high-throughput environment to the required productivity/quality specifications, iterating your process to improve efficiency,
✓* Performing regular troubleshooting and maintenance on analytical instruments such as GCMS, HPLC, LCMS, etc,
✓* Adhere to the laboratory quality system, specifically UKAS and MCERTS requirements,
✓* Maintaining good laboratory practice at all times, following methods, SOPs, and regulations, maintaining equipment and safe working procedures,
✓* Ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements of the department and wider business, ensuring PPE and safety equipment are used correctly and at all times, accidents and incidents are minimised, and non-conformities are promptly reported.
✓Skills and Experience Needed
✓An ideal candidate will have:
✓* Must hold the right to work in the UK
✓* Laboratory experience in analytical chemistry, specifically with analytical techniques such as GC/GC-MS, HPLC, LC/LC-MS, etc,
✓* Experience working in a high pressure, production-driven environment,
✓* Hands-on lab experience within a UKAS or ISO [phone number removed] accredited laboratory,
✓* Problem solving abilities, and the ability to make sound decisions independently,
✓* Good verbal and written communication skills,
✓* A desire to undertake routine, laboratory work in a high-throughput contract testing environment.
