Salary: £26,200 - £35,000 [depending on your suitability and level of experience]

Working within our Environmental Collections and Asbestos Focal Group within the Materials and Analytical Sciences [MAS] Sub-Function, you'll have the opportunity to build your skills and experience gained in a laboratory / field environment
You will be required to undertake field analysis and sampling of a variety of matrices [e.g., soil, concrete, tarmac, water] to support the Bulk Waste Characterisation Programme and the Environmental Monitoring Programme
Work will be delivery orientated and will require daily stakeholder and customer liaison.
The successful candidate will be primarily field based but will be required to undertake relevant procedural administration
The role may also require occasional preparation of technical reports and studies on behalf of the team and wider group
It is expected that findings from work be presented to the local group, and wider business
There may be opportunity to work on safe systems of work, including procedural documents and risk assessments, and undertake work relating to transport liaison arrangements
The successful candidate will be a proven self-starter, able to work to delivery demands either alone, or as a part of a team
The Environmental Collection and Asbestos Focal group work collaboratively with numerous areas of the business, and further work may be required to support these teams at the discretion of the Team Leader.

We would be interested in hearing from candidates who can demonstrate knowledge or experience in some of the following:
Must hold full UK manual driving license
Ability and willingness to work outside 'in field' for extended periods of the working day
ONC/HNC in scientific or engineering discipline, equivalent NQF level 4/5 qualification or relevant work experience
Technical knowledge of the broad subject matters of the team [in-field monitoring, collection and on-site safety]
Competence in the use of MS Office [Word, Excel and PowerPoint]
Strategic and tactical planning skills
Proven track record of driving delivery, performance and continuous improvement
