Role Outline
Working in the Policy, Economics, Public Affairs and Media [PEPAM] team, the Government Relations and Policy Coordinator will support the delivery of ADS political and policy led events and engagements in order to further the trade association’s political reputation and goals.
We are looking for a confident self-starter who can demonstrate initiative, has a proactive approach to problem solving and can communicate clearly to internal and external audiences.
This role provides the ideal opportunity for someone with foundation experience in event planning, stakeholder engagement and project coordination
The successful candidate will be working on high-profile projects with senior political and industry stakeholders.
Role Responsibilities
* Providing administrative support to the PEPAM team to help it run efficiently
This will include arranging meetings, supporting project management, organising large mailings, and ensuring our record keeping and processes are well managed.
* Supporting the team with a programme of political and parliamentary events in line with ADS’ engagement plan including member-stakeholder site visits, the annual parliamentary reception and party conferences.
* Support political attendance at major industry events including the biennial Farnborough International Airshow, political attendance at DSEI and the ADS Annual Dinner.
* Coordinate with industry on key issues and campaigns across ADS sectors.
* Coordinate the work of the PEPAM team including, but not limited to: blogs, website content, policy publications, annual Facts and Figures guide.
* Provide executive assistant support to the Director of Government Relations and Policy, including diary management, managing travel logistics and processing expenses.
* Act as a source of information on administrative issues, providing relevant information and support to other members of the PEPAM team as required, to ensure the smooth running of the department.

Reporting Structure
The role reports directly to the Director of Government Relations and Policy with no direct reports.
Skills & Competencies
* An individual with experience working within a political or trade association environment.
* Proven professional experience with direct responsibility of managing engagement and building effective working relationships with stakeholders.
* Experience of managing multiple projects and events.
* A results-driven and highly motivated individual with a can-do attitude and the ability to work flexibly as part of a team.
* A self-starter who can demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach to problem solving.
* Strong organisational skills, effective time management, and the ability to multi-task and prioritise.
* A good eye for detail and the ability to consistently deliver high quality, accurate work to deadline.
* Attitude and ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing priorities and manage a busy workload.
