MAS Knowledge Specialist

DescriptionAWE is currently recruiting for a Knowledge Specialist in support of the Materials and Analytical Science [MAS] area, to capture [review, summarise and publish] information based on organisational knowledge and experience for the benefit of the future business, underpinning AWE's capability to develop, maintain and deliver warhead systems.
Location - Reading area
Package - £33,300 - £45,000 [dependant on suitability and level of experience]

As Materials and Analytical Science: Knowledge Specialist, you will work in a small team facilitating the collation of key knowledge from a variety of staff across the sub-function
The successful candidate will bring a proactive approach to engage with staff involved in the Knowledge Management process, ensuring that the collated information is appropriately managed, risks are effectively mitigated, and the developed resources are successfully utilised by the organisation reducing time to competence.
This role will provide the successful candidate with excellent exposure to the wider materials and regulatory programmes within MAS, both past and current

What will you need to be considered?
Specific academic qualifications are not necessary for this role however, the post holder should have a technical background and be capable of operating at a level equivalent to HND level
A working knowledge of the principles of Knowledge Management
Competent IT skills
Confident oral and written communication skills
Effective administration skills, in particular accuracy and attention to detail
Experience in using photo and video editing software
Good working knowledge of the principles of nuclear warhead systems & sub-systems
Knowledge of UK nuclear warhead systems history
Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role
