Researcher
Description✓Good Morning we are currently recruiting for a Researcher to work for Devon and Cornwall Police on a part-time basis.
✓You will be working 22.50 hours a week and the role will be hybrid and you will work out of the police headquarters in Middlemoor when required after training.
✓Principal Responsibility
✓To undertake research using a number of diverse sources and performance information that will assist in the preparation of analytical products to support improvements around our response to rape and serious sexual offences [RaSSO]
✓Research appropriate crime and intelligence systems and other sources of information such as the Internet to gather data to enable the production of written reports and/or graphic presentations and to identify trends, patterns, series and concentrations of crime, potential crime or other areas of concern.
✓Liaise with other Force units, other Forces or external agencies including the STAR team [repeat offending in RaSSO] to ensure a cross flow of information related to crime or criminals that are linked to identified or new crime trends from either detected or undetected crime and to ensure early identification of suspects by Modus operandi [MO] or description.
✓Liaise with the Central Operation Soteria Bluestone Team [OSB] and Home Office around data sharing and other products.ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES & EXPERIENCE
✓Obtain information for the analysis process
✓Provide specialist advice and knowledge
✓Establish and agree terms of reference
✓Use intelligence to support policing objectives
✓Evaluate information to determine its intelligence potential
✓Disseminate intelligence to support operational policing
✓Skilled in MS Office, especially in Word and Excel with the ability to interrogate databases to an advanced level to identify trends, key points and principal issues.
✓Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt language to a variety of different audiences and to present complex data in a simple manner.
✓Proven ability to work diligently, with limited supervision, and to deliver to tight time-scales with the ability to prioritise effectively against conflicting requirements of customers.
✓Proven ability to work effectively in teams and co-operatively with other agencies/organisations
