RF Engineer

DescriptionInsignis Talent are working with a multi-national, market leading Defence company, who are actively seeking a talented and motivated RF Engineer to join their Sensors and Communications Hardware Engineering Team
As a member of the team, you will play a crucial role in delivering cutting-edge RF solutions in the marine environment
You will collaborate closely with a small team of experts, working on novel antennas and antenna control systems, and contribute to the entire lifecycle and evolution of their products, from initial requirements to delivery and ongoing support.
The primary purpose of this role is to take ownership of technical solutions in the hardware domain, specifically focusing on Antenna control units, Antennas, expendable buoys, and RF distribution units
As a key member of the team, you may be responsible for leading/mentoring junior engineers, ensuring the successful delivery of engineering designs within schedule and budget objectives
Your expertise will contribute to the design and development of hardware electronics and RF systems to meet diverse customer needs.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
Take a lead role in the detailed design of RF and electronics products.
Provide technical oversight and take ownership of RF and electronics products.
Manage the delivery of engineering solutions, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
Lead engineering projects throughout the entire lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, Integration, Verification, Validation and Qualification.
Offer support to the bid and sales team, production team, and off-site suppliers or customers, as required.
Desired Skills/Experience:
Proficiency in Electronics and RF Engineering.
Thorough understanding of Engineering Design lifecycles.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with customers.
Demonstrated leadership abilities and the capacity to make cost/time/quality decisions.
Self-driven, proactive, and highly motivated.
Logical approach to problem-solving.
Experience in Digital and Analogue Electronic Design [advantageous]
Proven experience in managing projects and project teams.
Previous responsibility for technical deliveries as a technical authority.
Engineering design experience with electromechanical products.
Knowledge of Analogue/Comms/RF/electrical systems.
