✓The role of Senior Operational Analyst [OA] sits within the Operational Analysis and Strategic Consulting Teams as part of our Cyber, Analysis and Mission Solutions discipline
✓We provide experts in operational analysis [known outside defence as Operational Research], strategic thinking, options analysis, qualitative methods and quantitative modelling, delivered through a variety of analytical tools and techniques.
✓Our OA&SC Teams provide QinetiQ and our customers with expertise in Operational Research, strategic thinking, options analysis, qualitative methods and quantitative modelling: delivered through a variety of analytical tools and techniques.
✓The majority of our work is currently with UK MOD clients but work is becoming increasingly directed towards the global defence industry and beyond into civil applications
✓The projects we support embrace land, air, sea and C4I systems, as well as emerging technology and innovation
✓Our clients are dispersed and we support customers around the UK and beyond
✓We are seeking highly-motivated, self-starting senior Operational Researchers, statisticians or data scientists who are able to lead a variety of programmes that in support of Research, Science and Technology projects
✓We are looking for people with proven experience of working to a high standard, ideally within the Defence Sector, spanning research activities and procurement advice within the MOD Acquisition Lifecycle, on complex capability projects.
✓As an experienced professional you will be, or could be, a member of a professional body such as the Operational Research Society, Institute of Mathematics and its' Applications [IMA] or equivalent
✓You will most likely have a degree in a scientific domain or mathematics
✓But most importantly, you will be driven to solve interesting problems and have a passion for the military.
✓The majority of work is currently with UK MOD clients but work is becoming increasingly directed towards the global defence industry and beyond into civil applications
✓Work embraces land, air, sea and C4I systems, as well as emerging technology and innovation
✓Our clients are dispersed, so travel within the UK will be necessary and a willingness and ability to travel to client sites around the UK is important
✓Since the COVID 19 pandemic, QinetiQ has been supportive of hybrid working and supports establishing a home office, however our staff are based out of one of our current operational sites [mostly Bristol, Malvern, Portsmouth or Farnborough] and should plan for office working at least part of the time Show more →
