Space Systems Engineer - RF / Software Defined Radios

DescriptionWe are seeking Space Systems Engineers to join our expanding team based in Harwell, United Kingdom
The key individuals will provide support to our UK business across various space programs, including Spaceports, Space Launch, PNT, Earth Observation, AI, and Cyber programs
The ideal candidates for these positions should be engineers with strong work ethics, analytical skills, and a comfort level in a project-based environment.
This role is open to individuals with a few years of relevant experience or those looking for an opportunity to enter a busy and thrilling space industry.
Tasks and Activities:
- Assist in the delivery of a range of high-quality projects for esteemed clients, encompassing Spaceports, novel PNT, RF & SDR technologies, space and security studies, and Space Weather & SDA.
- Support the delivery of high-quality and competitive proposals in response to customer Invitations to Tender [ITTs] or Requests for Proposal [RFP].
- Enhance and uphold RHEA Group's reputation with its customers.
- Engage with colleagues to facilitate the transfer of knowledge.
- Undertake training across required RHEA business units and functions.
- Responsively address ad hoc requests.
Skills and Experience:
Mandatory:
- BSc or higher in Engineering, Maths, Physics, or a space-related discipline, or applicable experience.
- Systems-level experience in RF and Software Defined Radios.
- Understanding of RF Systems [Low frequency to Terrahertz].
- Proficiency in digital signal processing [GPP, DSP, and/or FPGA].
- Familiarity with radio communications systems and protocols [including waveform design].
- Knowledge of RF architecture and system budgets.
- Tenacity, innovative thinking, and enthusiasm.
- Analytical mindset.
- Conscientious and eager to learn.
- Excellent organisational, planning, and time management skills.
- Clear and effective communication skills.
- Articulate, both verbally and in writing.
- Objective and logical thinking with an inquisitive and creative mind.

- Competence in Microsoft Office packages and IT literacy.
- Eligibility for UK Government SC Clearance.
Highly Desirable:
- Experience in the Space and/or Defence domain.
