Our team in Manchester writes numerical libraries for applications spanning High Performance Computing [HPC], 5G networking, Machine Learning [ML], and more
We're looking for a leader to join us as we build the future of computing, on Arm.

We build optimised library solutions:
Arm Performance Libraries - implementations of BLAS, LAPACK, FFT and sparse linear algebra routines;
Arm RAN Acceleration Library - networking functions for deployment in 5G systems;
ML libraries and frameworks - including TensorFlow and PyTorch, building on oneDNN and Arm Compute Library;
Arm Optimized Routines - open source maths functions.
Job Overview:
You will play a leading role in the development and deployment of the latest technologies in numerical libraries into new and existing markets
This will require enthusiastic engagement with all our engineering teams, with key partners within Arm, and with the wider ecosystem.
Together we will focus on innovation and ground breaking development, working with both proprietary and open source software stacks on the very latest Arm-based hardware.
Responsibilities:
Provide technical leadership and direction across multiple engineering teams;
Lead the integration of new technologies into our software products;
Collaborate with customers and partners to understand their needs;
Work with other divisions in Arm to expand support of the Arm architecture.
Required Skills and experience:
These are some of the characteristics we would like, we do not expect candidates to have them all - if you only have a few but still feel you'd make an extraordinary addition to our Team, please apply!
Excited by the prospect of delivering pioneering performance to end users;
Experience owning the delivery of sophisticated technical work involving multiple contributors in one or more of the application areas outlined above;
A track record of helping build an inclusive team environment with a culture that enables innovation and fosters psychological safety;
Excellent programming skills in C++ or C;
Strong abstract reasoning skills with an ability to focus on key concepts at all levels of detail;
Strong grasp of algorithms and data structures, along with a good understanding of how code performance relates to the underlying hardware in modern computer systems;
Clear, effective, written and verbal communication skills;
A degree, or higher, in a numerate subject, or experience in a related field.
“Nice to have” Skills and experience:
These skills are desirable but you do not need any of them to apply or succeed in your application:
People management or mentoring experience - pastoral care, performance review, supporting career development and coaching;
Experience with vector architectures, parallel programming and parallel runtimes;
Experience with common scripting languages and familiarity with software build, integration and test infrastructure;
Experience with large open-source projects, including development cycles and contribution processes;
Practical experience with modern software development practices;
Familiarity with UNIX/Linux, and MacOS or Windows development environments, including version control systems and basic administration tasks;
In Return:
You will be joining an outstanding company! Our team is a diverse and committed group from all over the world, based in a stylish office at the heart of Manchester, and support flexible and hybrid working
We strive to provide an open and accepting environment where you are encouraged to share your ideas and opinions; which enables collective innovation and creativity, and supports your professional and personal growth
In addition, we enjoy 25 days of annual leave as well as progressive parental leave, and many other benefits that Arm offers.
