HR Manager

DescriptionMy client based in Huntingdon is currently looking for a HR Manager to join their team on a Full Time Permanent basis
Ideally from a manufacturing background you will have experience in managing HR processes, be approachable to all company members and be CIPD qualified level 3.

Job Description:

To lead Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented; high-performance culture that emphasises quality, productivity and high standards; goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce
To co-ordinate the implementation of people-related services and policies
To assist and advise the company managers regarding Human Resources issues

MAIN DUTIES:
· Ensure that the companys written HR policies, procedures [including disciplinary and grievance procedures] and employment law updates together with updates in employee rights, are kept up to date electronically and with hard copies on file
Document and manage how staff are made aware of policies and policy changes and procedures and how they have access to them in accordance with best practice and employment law
This should include documenting employees right to advice and the company obligations to employees

· Ensure that the company maintains compliance with current employment legislation and best practice by monitoring and implementing improvement in processes for changes in employment legislation

· Advise and assist managers and supervisors on employment changes and staff management issues where requested and ensure that all requests and advice is documented

· Provide for the board meeting: a summary of changes in employment law by producing a short report which includes hyperlinks relevant to the update for further information; a summary of all currently ongoing employment and staffing issues, including projects, individual disciplinary issues including brief history, actions taken and proposed actions to be taken

· Document, keep up to date and ensure that the company complies with its employment objectives and procedures, appraisal policies and processes and ensure that all staff have had their appraisal completed by the due dates and that documentation is process compliant

· When management seeks to terminate employment, to advise and assist management and to document the termination process to ensure that it is compliant with best practice taking into consideration current employment law

· Act as a provider of information and advice for all staff for dealing with any employment issues and employment queries to promote healthy relationships between staff and the company

· Assist management by providing advice and assistance and by being present at all employment dispute meetings and making a contemporaneous record of these meetings such reports to be typed up as far as is practical the same day and to be placed on the relevant file together with all hand-written notes which should be retained

· Review and update job requirements and job descriptions for changes as requested by management, good practice and companywide consistency taking into account best practice and employment law

· Establish procedures for the recruitment process to include: job description, advertising, protocol for reviewing C.Vs and candidate selection for interview and arranging interview dates and times, dealing with pre-interview testing and test scoring, and interview questions with relevant managers and documenting the interview process and scoring of candidates performance and retaining this information on file

· After staff have handed in notice to leave, to conduct and document an exit interview to establish the staff members reasons for leaving and to produce an ongoing table of analysis as to why the company loses staff for sharing with management

· Maintain hard copy HR records for all staff and spreadsheet employment information to ensure all employment and salary details are documented and kept up to date
This system should be documented so that management understands how it works
To keep employees staff files and records for a period in accordance with current legislation and best practice

· Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
