Interim People and Culture Advisor
Description✓Our client is looking to recruit an Interim People and Culture Advisor to join their team in North Lanarkshire on an interim, 12- month basis.
✓The successful candidate will be a trusted advisor within the business providing comprehensive, pragmatic, and commercially focused operational support
✓You will give advice and guidance on all matters relating to employment law, absence and sickness management, ER activity including disciplinary and grievance processes, interpretation of policy and procedure and general queries
✓You will work with and challenge the business to drive the people agenda for the overall success of the business.
✓Responsibilities
✓Advise, coach, challenge, and support managers in their role within people related processes
✓Work with the People and Culture Administrator to answer 1st line questions
✓Provide support to the business to use the system effectively
✓Actively coach and train line managers and team leaders on all aspects of people management, empowering managers to lead their teams through up-skilling them on people management processes
✓Continually be up to date on legislative changes, communicating and raising awareness of changes
✓Responsible for supporting and engaging usage of the Reward and Recognition platform [Reward Gateway]
✓Write communications to be shared company-wide to keep each are of the business informed
✓Deliver Onboarding session to new starters, introducing them to the company alongside key members of the board
✓Monitor key team metrics [absence, attrition etc], identify areas of concerns and possible cost savings where appropriate
✓Monitor, review and update all policies annually and ensure these are in line with current legislation and ensuring that our policies support the business with the tender process for new customers
✓Work with the relevant people to ensure we renew or sign up all employees to all new policies and stater courses
✓Work alongside the Head of People & Culture to deliver an annual Engagement Survey and analyse and monitor the results
✓You will work with each department manager to put appropriate action plans in place
✓As new businesses are acquired in the local region, you will be supporting the integration from a people, process, and system perspective
✓Provide support for managers by taking the lead on ER cases, some complex, ensuring each case is resolved in a timely manner
✓Supporting with internal events including event planning and communications
✓Support the recruitment team by overseeing the leavers and exit interview process
✓Ensure the managers are following the recruitment process, using correct JDs and job titles
✓Support H&S activities across the organisation, but specifically in Scotland and in-line with Scottish H&S legislationEssential Skills
✓Demonstrable experience as a HR generalist
✓Able to travel to other offices within a 4-hour commute at least twice a month
✓Able to coach, mentor and influence at all levels
✓Ability to write policies
✓Planning and attention to detail
✓Strong communication skills
✓Ability to work to tight deadlines
✓Efficient in Microsoft Office applications
✓Flexibility
✓CIPD Level 5 qualifiedDesired Skills
