Trainee HR Advisor
Description✓Macsween of Edinburgh are looking to recruit an Trainee HR Advisor to work within our HR Department
✓This role would be perfect for an experienced and established HR Administrator or Assistant looking to develop and progress.
✓Role:
✓This role reports directly to the Managing Director with guidance and support from the part time HR Business Partner
✓The purpose of the Trainee HR Advisor role is to provide administrative support and low to mid-level human resources/legislative advice to the company.
✓This role is contracted at 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday with a start time of 9am
✓There is an opportunity for some home working and we are happy to discuss different options.
✓Duties include:
✓* To be the first point of contact for HR enquiries by providing advice to employees and management on policy and process queries and help maintain positive employee relations across the site.
✓* Department administration, ensuring that all tasks are completed accurately whilst adhering to confidentiality.
✓* Managing and coordinating recruitment for the company, including advertising, facilitating interviews and making offers of employment.
✓* Arranging and facilitating inductions and onboarding activities with new employees.
✓* Supporting managers through employee lifecycle [probations, performance management, termination].
✓* Absence monitoring and management.
✓* Facilitating low level formal processes.
✓* Note taking during mid to high level formal processes.
✓* Facilitating exit interviews and reporting on results.
✓* Maintaining time and attendance and HR systems.
✓* Payroll processing.
✓* Managing and coordinating staff association [En-Volve].
✓* Assisting with staff engagement survey.
✓* Assisting with company audits.
✓* Assisting with project initiatives as and when required.
✓Training will be provided.
✓Essential skills, experience and knowledge requirements:
✓The successful candidate must have;
✓* Proven experience within HR support and administration.
✓* Experience advising managers and employees across a broad range of HR topics.
✓* Adequate knowledge of employment legislation.
✓* Ability to confidently use and maintain IT systems and MS office packages.
✓* Excellent communication skills at all levels.
✓* Ability to manage a high workload with sometimes conflicting priorities.
✓* Self-motivated with an ability to work alone and self-prioritise.
✓* Willingness to develop skills and advance professionally.
