Contract and Category Manager [Professional Services]
Description✓Are you a talented procurement professional with a passion for building strong supplier relationships and delivering outstanding results? Look no further than The Crown Estate, where we are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Contract and Category Manager to join our team.
✓What does a Contract and Category Manager do at the Crown Estate?
✓As the Contract and Category Manager, you will be responsible for the robust and assured delivery of procurement activity within a given area, overseeing procurement functions undertaken in-house or in partnership within a major spend category
✓This will include category management, defining preferred supplier lists, category plans, key supplier relationships, and undertaking market engagement to ensure we are getting the best value for our organisation.
✓How will you add value to The Crown Estate as a Contract and Category Manager?
✓In this role, you will also be responsible for advising and supporting the tender process, managing the negotiation, and ensuring a smooth path to contract award, as well as supporting the business with the ongoing management of contracts
✓You will work closely with other teams to ensure efficient processes to contract signature, support the roll-out of new procurement tools and involvement in other ad-hoc tasks.
✓To be successful in this role, you will need to have solid experience working in procurement, direct responsibility for preparing tender documents and running tender processes, including e-tenders, and direct responsibility for contract negotiation and expeditious closeout and award
✓You will have experience in either the private or public sector with the ability to work across multiple and varied projects
✓A CIPS qualification is preferred.
✓As a key member of our procurement team, you will be an excellent communicator and possess the ability to build relationships with suppliers, across the business, and with other stakeholders
✓You will be comfortable engaging in a number of projects running simultaneously as well as planning future workload
✓You will be highly organised and detail-oriented, whilst also delivering to tight deadlines
✓You will demonstrate a customer-focused approach to service delivery and be willing to challenge in a positive way to ensure the best outcome for the business.
