Conveyancing Assistant

DescriptionThe main role of the Conveyancing Assistant is to manage a portfolio of up to Seventy-Five Sale and Purchase Conveyancing Transactions from Instruction to Completion.
Our client is looking to recruit a full time Conveyancing Assistant to join their busy Conveyancing Department
The role will be to support and participate in the client work undertaken by qualified fee earners across the Department.
Applicants should have a strong desire to work in Conveyancing & Property Law, providing first rate service to our clients and Solicitors on the other side of transactions as well keeping our brokers and relevant third parties up to date
The successful candidate will have an opportunity to be actively involved in and to experience all manner of conveyancing transactions.
You will need to be able to work on your own initiative or as part of a team and produce work quickly and accurately often within tight timescales
You will therefore have the ability to remain calm when working under pressure and strong IT skills, particularly when using Excel, Word and Outlook.
In addition to the above, you will need to be flexible and self-motivated
You will need to possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and thrive upon a demanding workload
Previous experience in a customer service role would be beneficial.
Office hours: Monday to Friday 08:45 – 17:15
Duties will include but will not be limited to:
* You will deal effectively with clients and third parties over the telephone, in written correspondence and occasionally face to face, in order to provide advice and assistance
* You will be responsible for communicating with clients and third parties on all elements of the conveyancing transaction
* You will be responsible for the client journey, managing every aspect of client interaction always ensuring best possible service
* You will own every aspect of the sale process and the purchase process with background technical assistance
* You will work in a team reporting to Technical Support
* You will seek advice on any technical matter as soon as they become apparent
* You will prepare the completion packs for the accounts department, to include completion statements and invoices
* You will deal with exchange of contracts
* You will be responsible for completions on the day of completion and post completion formalities
* You will ensure telephony targets are maintained
* You will adhere to conversion targets and maximise Fee generation
* You will ensure that you comply with all company policies and procedures ensuring breaches do not occur, should a breach occur you will help to rectify this immediately
* You will be expected to undertake any other duties required to assist your team and other teams should the need arise.
Essential Skills :
* At least 2 years Conveyancing experience.
* Running a small case load of straightforward conveyancing transactions
* Strong administrative skills gained in an office environment
* Excellent attention to detail
* Good telephone manner
* Conversant in Microsoft office
* Experience of using a case management system
