We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance, operations, and safety of a large shopping centre
As the Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of maintenance and support staff, coordinating with external service providers, and ensuring the overall functionality and appearance of the shopping centre
Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient environment for shoppers, tenants, and employees.

Responsibilities:

Facility Maintenance: Develop and implement effective maintenance programs to ensure the proper functioning of all building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, elevators, escalators, lighting, and other equipment
Schedule and oversee routine inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities to minimize downtime and optimize performance.

Vendor Management: Collaborate with external contractors, service providers, and suppliers to negotiate contracts, monitor service levels, and ensure cost-effective and high-quality delivery of services
Conduct regular evaluations to assess vendor performance, address any issues, and seek opportunities for improvement.

Team Leadership: Supervise a team of maintenance technicians, custodial staff, and other support personnel
Provide clear direction, assign responsibilities, and oversee their work to maintain a clean, safe, and well-functioning shopping centre
Foster a positive work environment, promote teamwork, and provide training and development opportunities to enhance staff performance.

Budgeting and Cost Control: Develop and manage the facilities budget, including operational expenses, maintenance contracts, and capital projects
Identify cost-saving measures and implement strategies to optimize resources while maintaining high-quality facility standards
Prepare and present reports on budget performance and provide recommendations for cost-effective improvements.

Safety and Security: Ensure compliance with all applicable safety and security regulations, codes, and standards
Implement and maintain emergency response plans, including fire safety, evacuation procedures, and security protocols
Conduct regular safety inspections, identify potential hazards, and take corrective actions to mitigate risks.

Tenant and Customer Relations: Build and maintain positive relationships with tenants, addressing their concerns and providing timely support
Collaborate with marketing and leasing teams to coordinate activities and events that enhance the shopping experience
Regularly communicate with shoppers and gather feedback to improve overall satisfaction.

Sustainability and Environmental Initiatives: Develop and implement sustainable practices to reduce energy consumption, waste generation, and carbon footprint
Explore and recommend innovative technologies and initiatives to enhance the shopping centre's environmental performance.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in facilities management, engineering, business administration, or a related field [or equivalent experience].
Proven experience as a Facilities Manager, preferably in a large shopping centre or commercial property.
Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, and relevant regulations.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Strong financial acumen and experience in budgeting and cost control.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems [CMMS] and other relevant software.
Knowledge of safety and security protocols and emergency response procedures.
