✓One of the largest housing associations in Devon is recruiting for a Floating Support Worker to provide support to provide a floating support service for their residents with Mental Health support needs in the Barnstaple area
✓The Services
✓This Floating Support Worker role will be based across Barnstaple, working with residents in the community, providing support with daily living tasks in and out of the home
✓No personal care is provided as part of the service
✓The people the service support are 18+ who have learning difficulties or suffer with mental health difficulties.
✓The Role
✓The focus of this Floating Support Worker role is to provide comprehensive support and guidance, helping service users thrive in independent living
✓This will include the following tasks and responsibilities:
✓Support people to improve their wellbeing, make links with their local communities and manage their homes.
✓Work alongside people to support them in meeting their potential in all areas of their lives.
✓Be responsible for the delivery of high quality visiting support to people in their own homes.
✓Work in partnership with customers customer to provide the best possible service
✓Foster hope and create the conditions in which people can be enabled to live independently and be empowered.
✓Identify and act on any safeguarding concerns in and procedures
✓Contribute towards a service that ensures our customers feel safe and secure
✓The Candidate
✓To be considered for this Floating Support Worker role, you will require previous housing support experience, ideally working with mental health support needs.
✓A driving license will be beneficial for your application, however, the role can be carried out via walking, bicycle or public transport
✓Due to the vulnerable nature of the service users you will be working with, you will require an Enhanced DBS for this role
✓If you have an existing DBS on the update service, this will be beneficial to your application.
✓The Package
✓This is Floating Support Worker role, is on an initial 3 month temporary contract working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, however, this can be flexible.
✓The role is covering the recruitment process for a permanent member of staff so has an excellent chance of being extended or becoming permanent.
