✓Resident Services work closely with our customers, providing housing services, housing management and first-class customer care.
✓As a Housing Officer you will be working on behalf of Islington Council as part of the PFI contract, to provide an effective housing service to all of our residents.
✓Key Responsibilities of a Housing Officer
✓* Manage street properties and be part of a small team managing a contract on behalf of Islington Council
✓* Act as an advocate for customers on housing management issues and liaise with relevant departments to explore appropriate
✓* Ensure the prompt inspection, viewing and sign up of all void properties
✓* Facilitate access to leasehold and tenanted properties for the heating and repairs teams to ensure they can carry out all repairs and gas safety inspections
✓* Attend forced entries
✓* Deal sensitively with vulnerable residents and refer cases to appropriate support providers
✓* Present cases for court action and represent Hyde & Islington Council at court, liaising with solicitors where appropriate
✓* Undertake visits and inspections to properties and communal areas as required
✓Skills and Experience Required
✓* Experience of working in a similar customer focused role
✓* Strong knowledge of social housing
✓* Proficient IT Skills
