Accounts Payable Officer

DescriptionOur client, based in East London, is an award winning Housing Association and is looking to recruit an interim Finance Officer [Payables] into their team on a six month contract.
The position is due to start immediately on a full time basis and offers hybrid working with fully flexible start and finish times.
The ideal candidate must have experience of Open Accounts or SUN and have knowledge of basic accounting concepts, including purchase ledger, as well as experience working within the Social Housing sector.
Duties will include [but not limited to]:
* Processing all payments, including processing all payments: credit notes, internal recharges, rent refunds, compensation payments, direct debits and credit card payments
* Administering the purchase order systems and invoice scanning systems and interfaces
* Proactively running daily reports to ensure that goods received notes are process on time to allow efficient invoice payment
* Maintaining the purchase ledger ensuring payments, credit note and other adjustments are allocated, and running aged creditor reports on a weekly basis
* Managing the email mailbox, ensuring queries are dealt with on a timely basis
* Reconciling supplier statements and resolving payment queries, and assisting in setting up new suppliers
* Providing cover for the Accounts Payable Manager as and when required
Rewards and Benefits:
* Hourly rates: £21.63 PAYE including holiday pay or £25.37 umbrella
* Hybrid working - two to three days working from home a week

Experience required:
* Experience of a range of bookkeeping functions specifically purchase ledger
* IT literate [specifically Excel & Microsoft package]
* Use of the Open Accounts or SUN Systems
* Excellent attention to detail
* Experience working for a Housing Association or Not-For-Profit organization
* Experience working with cross functional team
* Strong customer service skills
Working hours:
* 37 hours per week
* Monday – Friday with flexible working hours [core hours are 10am-4pm]
