Laboratory Technician
Description✓One of our local authority clients are currently recruiting for a Laboratory Technician
✓This is a temporary contract for 2 months with possible further extension based on budget and performance.
✓Main Purpose of Post/Job Summary
✓The Laboratory Technician will be required to analyse submitted samples to determine material properties and establish if they conform to their specified requirements, investigate non-conformances, and give technical support to the operations technicians.
✓Duties and Responsibilities
✓* Routine and non-routine laboratory work, including basic chemical analysis using established methods
✓* Assist as required in troubleshooting of plant technical problems.
✓* Apply health and safety and quality standards as required by the company systems and legislation
✓* Investigate root causes of non-conformance and suggest prevention.
✓* Order and maintain raw materials/reagents and equipment as required
✓* Determine material properties of submitted samples and establish if they conform to their specified requirements.
✓* Reporting of results to the Site Manager.
✓* Input data in to VWIO database.
✓* Trending of data, identification of trends, understanding underlying causes.
✓* Provide chemical/process advice to Operations.
✓* Working on days.
