DescriptionVACANCY - Assistant Buyer
TYPE - Fixed term contract - 9 months
LOCATION - Hillington Industrial Estate
SALARY - upto £14.29 per hour
HOURS - Monday - Thur 8am - 4.30pm and a lunchtime finish each Friday
[37 hours]
Excellent induction and training provided
There will be a very thorough 5 - 6 week handover period with the present post holder who is going off on maternity leave.
PLEASE NOTE This is a large organisation with many different departments and job opportunities, therefore, at the end of the fixed term contract in MARCH 2024, if there are any suitable permanent opportunities available, you would be considered for them.

THE ROLE
The Assistant Buyer will provide support to the UK Procurement Team

Experience in a similar purchasing support role is preferred, however, training will be provided

Applicants must be proficient with SAP and MS Office applications coupled with excellent communication skills, written & oral.

Duties & Responsibilities
* Process purchase orders as suggested by MRP output.
* Produce reports using SAP - for late orders, future orders etc.
* Handle material logistics associated with procuring material from around the globe
* Support all other departments to achieve the business objectives
* Minimize component shortages
* Ensure order data is accurate and up to date e.g
pricing, delivery schedule etc
* Ensuring our compliance with any relevant corporate or government policies
* Support annual physical inventory as required
* Ensure inventory is rightsized depending on forecasts
* Ensuring SAP data is kept accurate, dates, prices, lead-times etc.
* Be able to assist the department in other tasks - closing orders, raising requisitions, maintaining the Q Pulse records, maintaining part level information such as pricing and MOQ's.
* Ensuring the Operations support manager is updated with any issues or concerns in a timely manner.
Skills & Experience
* Strong experience in MRP/ERP systems; SAP preferred.
* Previous Purchasing/Supply Chain Experience - in a supporting role
* Ability to communicate clearly across all levels of the organisation and vendors.
* Excellent negotiation skills
* Good organisational & problem-solving skills
* MS Office proficient [word, excel, outlook etc.]
