Description✓Buyer required for very well established manufacturing business
✓In this role you will be responsible for purchasing goods/services in accordance with the company's requirements, processing purchase orders and monitoring to delivery, plus supplier negotiation and cost management
✓Ensuring that suppliers are complying with purchase terms and conditions and liaising with other departments to ensure that all stakeholders are fully informed as appropriate.
✓Main responsibilities & duties
✓Placing / monitoring / progressing purchase orders
✓Research and selection of suppliers
✓Generating supplier forecasts
✓Liaison with planning ref shortages
✓Supporting in the supplier compliance program
✓Ensuring that supplier / product information is maintained
✓Attending daily planning meeting and sharing information as required
✓Maintain cost movement records
✓Attend supplier meetings
✓Key Skills Qualifications and Experience
✓3 years + experience in a procurement environment
✓Numerate with a high degree of computer literacy, with Excel skills and knowledge / experience of MRP
✓CIPS qualification [or similar], degree education desirable, but not essential
✓Commercial awareness with good attention to detail
✓Ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and colleagues
✓Strong analytical & communication skills
✓ERP knowledge [SAP By Design, desirable]
✓Driven for team success
✓Experience of working with low cost countries advantageous
