Principal Procurement Officer

✓£350 per day
✓Location: Bracknell
✓Akton Resourcing are currently working with a local authority to recruit a Principal Procurement Officer to join the team on a 3-month contract [may be subject to extension, based on performance and need].
✓Utilising your procurement knowledge and strong interpersonal skills, in working collaboratively with colleagues across the council to deliver key projects, you will be empowered to lead on major procurement projects and provide advice to a range of stakeholders
✓Main Duties/Responsibilities:
✓* Leading cross-functional teams to develop new contracts, delivering clear service improvements and real cash savings.
✓* Advise senior managers on all procurement and contract management issues.
✓* Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and contract standing orders.
✓* Having an advanced understanding and experience in utilising e-tendering systems to maximise its functionality and use.
✓We are looking for someone with significant experience of leading procurement projects and producing complex documentation, as well as a detailed knowledge of procurement systems
✓Previous public sector experience is essential, plus a broad knowledge of commercial issues and purchasing techniques
✓Candidates should be CIPS qualified
