✓Job Title: Area Sales Manager – Smoke Control Dampers and Fire Dampers
✓Industry Sector: Fire & Smoke Controls, Fire & Smoke Dampers, Smoke Ventilation Fans, Air & Volume Control Dampers, Damper Control Systems, HVAC products, M&E Consultants, M&E Contractors, Plumbing & Heating Distributors and other Building Services Products
✓Area to be covered: North – based M62 Corridor
✓Remuneration: £40,000-£50,000 Basic + £60,000 OTE
✓Benefits: Hybrid company car + full benefits package
✓The role of the Area Sales Manager – Smoke Control Dampers and Fire Dampers will involve:
✓* Field sales role selling the design, manufacture and distribution of a large portfolio of fire and smoke control products
✓* 25% of your time winning specification with M&E consultants, typically presenting one CPD per week [recently virtually, although our client is looking to increase face to face meetings]
✓* Remainder of time split evenly between M&E contractors and plumbing and heating distributors
✓* Responsible for circa 150 customer accounts
✓* 60% new business development, 40% account management role
✓* Inheriting an area currently achieving budget
✓* Responsible for growing the area from £3.6m to £4m
✓* Following quotes through to order
✓* Order values from £20,000-£250,000, with an average of circa £30,000-£40,000
✓* Typical projects with healthcare and commercial [there is one OEM customer responsible for approx
✓£500,000 on patch]
✓* Weekly virtual meeting with rest of field sales team
✓The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager – Smoke Control Dampers and Fire Dampers with:
✓* Proven track record or field sales with HVAC related products, ideally allied to ventilation
✓* Must have sold into a similar customer base to; M&E consultants and M&E contractors as well as plumbing and heating merchants
✓* Specific knowledge of smoke control dampers, fire dampers etc
✓is not required
✓* Capable of both generating new business and managing / expanding existing accounts
✓* Ability to work on own initiative and works well with others
✓* Self motivated, good communicator, IT literate and hungry
