Job Title: Area Sales Manager – Smoke Control Dampers and Fire Dampers
Industry Sector: Fire & Smoke Controls, Fire & Smoke Dampers, Smoke Ventilation Fans, Air & Volume Control Dampers, Damper Control Systems, HVAC products, M&E Consultants, M&E Contractors, Plumbing & Heating Distributors and other Building Services Products
Area to be covered: North – based M62 Corridor
Remuneration: £40,000-£50,000 Basic + £60,000 OTE
Benefits: Hybrid company car + full benefits package
The role of the Area Sales Manager – Smoke Control Dampers and Fire Dampers will involve:
* Field sales role selling the design, manufacture and distribution of a large portfolio of fire and smoke control products
* 25% of your time winning specification with M&E consultants, typically presenting one CPD per week [recently virtually, although our client is looking to increase face to face meetings]
* Remainder of time split evenly between M&E contractors and plumbing and heating distributors
* Responsible for circa 150 customer accounts
* 60% new business development, 40% account management role
* Inheriting an area currently achieving budget
* Responsible for growing the area from £3.6m to £4m
* Following quotes through to order
* Order values from £20,000-£250,000, with an average of circa £30,000-£40,000
* Typical projects with healthcare and commercial [there is one OEM customer responsible for approx
£500,000 on patch]
* Weekly virtual meeting with rest of field sales team
The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager – Smoke Control Dampers and Fire Dampers with:
* Proven track record or field sales with HVAC related products, ideally allied to ventilation
* Must have sold into a similar customer base to; M&E consultants and M&E contractors as well as plumbing and heating merchants
* Specific knowledge of smoke control dampers, fire dampers etc
is not required
* Capable of both generating new business and managing / expanding existing accounts
* Ability to work on own initiative and works well with others
* Self motivated, good communicator, IT literate and hungry
