Children's Residential Senior Support Worker

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Support Worker to join an established Children's Residential Provider
You would be joining a team of professionals delivering high quality care to three young service users with complex behaviour.
The home is based in North West London with great links to the local train/rail network
Shifts will be worked on a basis of 2 days on / 4 days off with all staff, paid full time, for 40 hours a week
There won't be a need for constant travel throughout the week for many shifts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
* To provide primary basic care and a nurturing, therapeutic environment to help the child progress.
* Manage the home effectively in the absence of the home or deputy manager.
* Effectively lead shifts, direct and support the staff team.
* To mentor and support staff and manage individual and team performance to ensure a standard of excellent service delivery.
* Ensure the effective monitoring and control of all expenditure accounted for in accordance with financial procedures.
* To manage health and safety processes in the home including implementation and monitoring of risk assessments.
* To support the induction process of new colleagues.
* To model a robust commitment to safe guarding actively promoting the welfare of children and young people
* To contribute to care planning and the implementation of these plans.
* To work alongside psychologists to enable effective integration of care and therapy.
* To work with children and young people and their prospective carers to ensure the child’s successful integration into a family when placed.
* To be a key carer of a child or young person where designated.
Household Responsibilities
* To always follow and act in the spirit of the staff therapeutic principles agreed to upon commencement of employment.
* To share in the practical activities necessary to maintain the home to the highest standard.
* To set the highest standard in home making.
* To take ownership of the home, including the fabric, equipment and grounds.
