Working within this multi-disciplinary team you will work directly with children who have been victims of exploitation, neglect and have complex care needs with a focus on rebuilding resilience, working around managing risks and creating a safe and bright future for when they move on into the next stage of their journey
You will also work closely with external agencies such as social care, local police and other partners to ensure the safeguarding and wellbeing of our children.
Role overview
By assisting the home manager in the day-to-day management operations, whilst supporting the whole team by making sure the home operates to our high standards
You will be working in partnership with other professionals to achieve the best outcomes for our children and young people
Delivering supervisions and support to senior staff in line with care quality standards and Children’s Homes Regulations 2015
Throughout all you will be carrying out direct work with children and young people while working on shift.
What your Day will look like
Work as part of the management team to ensure the welfare of young people meeting the child's health, social and educational needs
Implement appropriate safeguarding policies and procedures
Implement all aspects of the home statement of purpose and function
Work as part of the management team to support and lead the team in the delivery of high-quality child centred practice
Promote positive multi-agency relationships including building relationships with the local community
Implement care plans and support packages
Promote professional development of staff, carry out staff supervisions and assist in the assessment of training needs.
Preparing reports and attending a range of meetings, i.e
review meetings with multi-agency partners
Overseeing the day-to-day running of the home including managing the staff team
Ensuring staff rotas are drawn-up and meet the needs of the home
Responsibility for daily budgeting and working within budgetary guidelines
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the young people in care
Ensure the provision of a planned and stimulating environment.

Qualifications
Diploma 3 in Residential Childcare [or equivalent]
Working towards or holds a level 5 Diploma leadership and management residential childcare
Current full driving license
Experience
At least 2 years’ experience in Residential children’s Care which includes supervisory experience

Base salary of £28,080 to £29,577, plus additional £3,600 including sleeps
Working on a rota 2 days on and 4 days off covering a 7 day rota
Training; a full two week induction programme
Level 4 Accredited Qualification in Child Sexual Exploitation [ACSEP]
Holiday allowance of 6.6 weeks per year
