Recovery Worker
Description✓Central is currently recruiting for two Recovery Workers to work in the Lewisham area
✓The service provides accommodation and support to individuals in recovery from drug and alcohol dependency, affording them the opportunity to develop essential life skills and re-integrate into the local community
✓The service operates with a psychologically informed approach.
✓The successful candidate will be required to work 37.5 hours per week, working across Monday - Sunday on a rota basis, covering early [8:30AM - 5PM], mid [9AM - 5:30PM or 10AM - 6:30PM] and late [2PM - 10:30PM] shifts
✓There is a requirement to work 2 weekends in every 6
✓Cover is required for approximately 3 months
✓The pay rate for this role is £13.38 per hour, with £1.95 holiday pay, totalling £15.33 inclusive of holiday pay.
✓Please note; this role is based across three sites; one progress house for those still actively using substances, one move-on house for those newly abstinent but still in need of daily support and an abstinent house for those who are fully abstinent and needing less support.
✓In this position, you will be required to:
✓* Hold a caseload of 4 - 5 key client and develop support plans with service users who have experienced/are experiencing addiction personalised to their own needs and aspirations
✓* Complete and regularly update risk assessments and develop risk management plans, taking a non-risk averse approach to enable service users to develop and reach their potential.
✓* Prepare for, deliver and actively participate in effective handovers ensuring sufficient and relevant details are included as to maintain a high quality service.
✓* Empower service users to gain independence and support them to move into appropriate accommodation within given timeframes
✓* Undertake regular and random testing of service users for drugs and alcohol
✓* Provide advice and guidance to service users on a range of topics including housing and welfare benefits, education and employment, health and wellbeing and recreational and cultural activities.
✓* Develop and deliver group sessions aimed to cultivate positive change and empower individuals to gain independence and confidence in their skills
✓* Link relevant services into service users support plans and plan and attend meetings/case conferences related to their support.
✓* Ensure void procedures are followed in order to let empty rooms as quickly as possible.
✓* Support service user's to manage their income and avoid accruing arrears

✓* Experience of working in services with people with support needs related to substance misuse, homelessness and physical and mental health
✓* Experience of working within supported housing
✓* Understanding of the support needs of those who have experienced homelessness and addiction
✓* Ability to manage a case load of individuals with presenting support needs and help service users identify personal goals
✓* Ability to work with individuals to develop clear time framed action plans that support progress towards goals
✓* Ability to work with service users to develop workable risk management plans and to adopt a non-risk averse approach to service delivery
✓Please note, this role involves loneworking.

✓* A fully enhanced DBS registered on the DBS update service or willingness to apply for one through Central [at a cost of £50]
✓* Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process
