We are Voyage Care and for over 30 years our priority has been the fulfilment of the lives of people we support.

It's crucial that you have experience and an understanding of autism and learning disabilities.

Overseeing Support Workers, our Senior Support Workers implement care plans for individuals with learning disabilities and other complex needs.

About the Role:

Our specialist supported living service in Sutton Coldfield supports people with a learning disability and autism, who may have additional mental health conditions and challenging behaviour
This includes people moving on from long term hospital stays.

The aim of the service is to enable people to live a fulfilled life, as independently as possible
You will develop positive, respectful and trusting relationships with the people we support to improve their confidence and self-esteem, incorporating both therapeutic and social based activities.

You must be resilient, flexible and composed in your approach, following Positive Behaviour Support plans and understanding the importance of reflective practice to ensure the best outcomes for the person.

Whilst no two days are the same, typically you'll enable people to achieve a range of outcomes relating to their personal care, daily living skills, relationships and accessing community activities.

Previous experience of working with people with a learning disability and/or autism who display challenging behaviour or have a mental health condition is preferred.
