3rd Line Support Engineer
Description✓Role: 3rd Line Engineer
✓Salary: £35,500 per annum + benefits
✓Job Location: Chorley
✓About the role
✓This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly motivated and technically skilled support team providing IT support to a wide range of businesses that use Elite Group’s Cloud IT Solutions.
✓As part of this role, you will get to travel to customer sites to investigate and resolve issues - this may be more than once a week and a pool vehicle will be provided for this travel.
✓There will be out of hours work with this role to provide additional support cover for customers which works on a rota basis
✓But don’t worry, an on-call allowance is payable should you enter on to the on-call rota.
✓Role Responsibilities include:
✓* Owning cases from the initial call through to resolution.
✓* The ability to work through cases in complex environments.
✓* Receiving escalations from the 2nd Line Team.
✓* Mentoring and upskilling the 2nd Line Team.
✓* Pitching improvements to technical solutions and processes.
✓* Maintaining Microsoft Windows server operating systems and business applications, including Remote Desktop Services & WVD.
✓* Maintaining wide area networks, including firewall configuration and commissioning VPN’s.
✓* Advanced troubleshooting of system and network problems.
✓* Diagnosing and solving desktop hardware & software application issues.
✓* Supporting the roll-out of new business applications.
✓The Essentials:
✓* Self-motivated, driven, and pro-active, with the ability to research potential solutions and to propose fixes and identify gaps in technical solutions and processes.
✓* Mentor experience to be able to mentor and upskill the 2nd line team.
✓* Strong technical knowledge of:
✓* Remote Desktop and/or AVD
✓* Windows Server 2012, 2016 & 2019
✓* Active Directory
✓* Group Policy & Profiles / FsLogix
✓* SQL Server
✓* Exchange Server including on-premise and online versions
✓* Microsoft Office versions including Office 365
✓* Backup solutions
✓* Managed AV solutions
✓* WSUS
✓* Strong general knowledge of networking including:
✓* TCP/IP & Routing
✓* Firewalls and VPN’s
✓* Broadband and Leased Line technologies
✓* Network troubleshooting
✓* Knowledge and experience of server virtualisation technologies.
✓The Desirables:
✓* Experienced with:
✓* SharePoint & OneDrive
✓* Intune
✓* Microsoft CRM
✓* Experience of managing Watchguard firewalls
✓* Experience of managing Panda AV and Systems Management
✓* Previous experience using ServiceNow [CSM or IM]
✓The nitty-gritty
✓This is a full-time position based in our Chorley office, and we work on a hybrid basis
✓You must be able to work from either our Chorley office 2 days per week
