✓We are recruiting for a Field Based Engineer for our Exeter based client.
✓• As a Field Engineer, your main responsibility will be the installation and testing of Cat5/Cat6, CW1308, and fiber cables to establish communication infrastructure.
✓• This role involves developing technical solutions to provide telephony services and IT network products to both new and existing customers.
✓• Specific duties include installing, terminating, and testing cables to meet industry standards, patching equipment using Cat5/Cat6 and fiber patch cables, installing containment such as conduit, trunking, tray, and baskets, and installing data cabinets and access points.
✓• You will also be required to carry out site surveys to ensure that the proposed solution meets customer requirements and communicate any potential issues on-site in a timely manner.
✓• It is crucial to liaise with the installation coordinators and project managers to ensure efficient resolution of any problems, causing minimum disruption to the project and customer.
✓• The role also involves adhering to H&S precautions, including carrying out risk assessments before commencing work and raising any concerns promptly
✓Finally, you must ensure all documentation and equipment are returned to the office within the agreed timescales.
✓Required Skills:
✓• Proven experience in delivering Cat5/Cat6 and CW1308 cabling, and knowledge of industry standards.
✓• Ability to select and use tools safely and effectively.
✓• Strong teamwork and independent working skills.
✓• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different customer communication levels and prioritize requirements.
✓• Calm and confident in technical situations and able to approach customers in a professional manner.
✓• Punctual and reliable timekeeping.
✓• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other office programs.
✓• Good understanding of Health and Safety regulations and consistently follows safe working practices.
✓• Great attention to detail, ensuring customer installations are left clean and manageable.
✓• Tidy and presentable appearance, always wearing the provided uniform during working hours.
✓• Valid full UK driving license.
✓• Ability to work alone or as part of a team and meet customer targets and deadlines under pressure.
✓• Professional communication with third-party suppliers to ensure smooth product implementation.
✓• Confidence in problem-solving on-site or remotely, independently or as part of a team.
✓• Willingness to travel across the UK with possible overnight stays and work from the office or home as needed.
✓Desired Skills:
✓• Good knowledge of IT and basic network configuration.
✓• Knowledge of voice installation, both on-premises and cloud-based.
✓• IP literate with good all-around IT skills.
