* Fibre splicers & testers
JOB DESCRIPTION
We require gangs who have strong lead engineer that will ensure all materials, stores, equipment and job packs are in place in a timely manner to ensure you maximise productivity and time spent installing on site.
In turn the 21Days back office are tasked with ensuring you have “doable” work and all the work planned is fluid for you…….simple!!!
We don’t do reactive!!!!!!!
We are currently resourcing experienced Fibre Telecoms Engineers to carry out, cabling, fibre blowing, splicing and testing work from the active cabinet through the end distribution point [Pole mounted or Underground mounted]
We Operate a number of models from single gangs paid via CIS or sub-contractors who have multiple gangs.
The large majority of our work is on a rate card per activity and the rates can vary depending on the vehicles, tooling, equipment and accreditation supplied by the gangs
If the gangs have their own vehicles, tooling and accreditations then the rate is reflective of that.
You will be willing to work in all weather conditions
Foul weather PPE will be supplied along with a vehicle, tools and the equipment required to complete every job safely and to the highest standards.
We require gangs across the North West and North East.
Customer satisfaction is key aspect of any work you will carry out and first impressions count
You will need to be customer focused, polite and well-presented.
BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS
* Ensure you have a strong lead engineer who can self-manage the gang, understand fibre design drawings, carry out risk assessments, work with the back office to provide accurate site reports in agreed formats and timescales, ensure all quantities claimed are submitted, all photographic evidence required are submitted for work to move a payable status and liase with the office to resolve site issues to keep work fluid.
* Willing to travel to and from various job locations within your working area
* Be prepared to work away from home to meet operational requirements if needed
* Be prepared to work outside in all weather conditions
* Visit and work within eyes of the public
* Ability to work alone using your own initiative
* Ability to learn and understand the designs for each project
* Ability to submit accurate daily updates as required for each project, in line with the designs
* Be highly motivated with attention to detail
* Work using hand-held testing equipment and mobile devices etc.
* Recognised fibre training accreditation equivalent to work in the PIA network
* Relevant NRSWA and confined spaces training for each gang where applicable
* Be flexible with regard to working hours as required, be prepared to work weekends [normally Saturdays if needed]
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE.
* Full UK driving license held for a minimum of 12 months within the gang.
* Well presented
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Previous experience of similar fibre or copper work
* NRWSA accreditation and PIA accreditations dependent on the gang type
NON-ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
* Previous experience of telecoms, working off ladders or external network installation.
* Have worked in an Engineering or technical environment
