Stretford Band may be just what you have been looking for! Stretford Band is a community based typically British brass band that welcomes adults from 18 to ancient. We play a wide variety of musical styles from marches to musicals, pop to classical. The band does not compete so enjoys a friendly relaxed atmosphere for players of different abilities who want to play to a good standard whilst meeting new friends and playing purely for pleasure. Stretford Band has been in existence since the 1840s and performs concerts mainly around Greater Manchester and occasionally further afield. Rehearsals are on Tuesday and/or Thursday evenings 8-10pm in the Church rooms of Sevenways Methodist Church, Stretford [the band is not related to the Church]. We welcome people from all backgrounds some of whom have played since childhood, others who have taken brass up as a retirement hobby. It really is well worth giving it a go. No auditions!
