DescriptionPremier Houseboats are pleased to present Téa, originally an East German naval tug that has been converted to create a spacious and characterful home where the contemporary and traditional meet in perfect harmony.
Téa was commissioned in 1957 and handed over to the East German navy in 1959,and, as you would expect, is exceptionally well built
The conversion has been done over several years, and great thought has been given to retaining the features whilst also creating a comfortable living environment.
The accommodation currently consists of an entrance vestibule, a fully equipped
galley with plenty of work surface and storage and a family bathroom with bath and
shower attachment, hand basin and wc
There is also a dining room converted from the original mess and captain’s cabin
These rooms are all on the main deck level.
Below there is a large main cabin with double bed and plenty of built in storage.
There are two further cabins, both with twin bunks and ample storage and seating
areas.
Above, there is the living room which has been converted from the original
wheelhouse, radio room and map room
This is a large area offering stunning
panoramic views across the river from its multiple windows
There is also an external door from this room.
The tug also has a very large area in what was the engine room
This is accessed from a separate stairway to that to the bedrooms
This is currently used as a workshop but could be converted into a beautiful living area.
At the stern there is a separate cabin that could be used for storage or converted into a den.
Externally there are very large deck spaces over three levels on which to enjoy your surroundings
There are also large storage holds at the fore and stern.
Lots of original features remain on the tug such as fire and salvage pumps, the large electronics control cabinet, a small arms gun cupboard, portholes, windows and doors and room fittings thus giving the comfort of plenty of living space but with the full character of an original working boat, this balance making Téa a “must see” home
The tug is available with no on-going chain.
